The law firm of Leininger, Smith, Johnson, Baack, Placzek & Allen was established in 1929 in Grand Island, Nebraska, by A. J. Luebs. The firm consists of eleven attorneys and an experienced staff of paralegals, assistants, and an investigator working together to provide professional, aggressive representation throughout Nebraska.
The firm provides its clients with a full range of legal services in areas including claims of serious injury, death claims, auto accidents, workers' compensation, products liability, divorce, banking and finance, bankruptcy and financial disputes, corporations and business organizations, business transactions, agricultural organizations and transactions, water law, real estate, estate planning, probate, and appellate practice. We represent businesses of all sizes, as well as institutional, governmental and individual clients.
The firm maintains an extensive library for legal research, including the extensive use of computerized research databases. We are also backed by computerized document support capabilities and a state-of-the-art word processing and computer system that allows us to easily communicate with our clients. We are fully capable of using the latest technology to provide our clients with effective, prompt representation.

Attorneys in the litigation department are D. Steven Leininger, Daniel M. Placzek, James A. Beltzer, Sonya K. Koperski, Tanya J. Janulewicz, and Jordan W. Adam.. Mr. Leininger has been practicing law for 37 years, 35 with the firm. Mr. Placzek has been practicing law for 26 years with the firm. Mr. Beltzer has been practicing law for 38 years, 26 with the firm. Ms. Koperski, Ms. Janulewicz, and Mr. Adam are associates in the litigation department. The litigation department has extensive experience in all State and Federal Courts throughout Nebraska.
Bruce I. Smith, Michael L. Johnson, Arend R. Baack, Cathleen H. Allen, and Brandon S. Connick specialize in the business, trusts, and estates department of the firm. All are partners with the firm. Mr. Smith has been practicing law for more than 40 years and joined the firm in 1978. Mr. Johnson has been practicing law for more than 31 years and joined the firm in 1985. Mr. Baack has been practicing law with the firm for more than 27 years; Ms. Allen has been practicing law with the firm for more than 18 years; and Mr. Connick has been practicing law with the firm for more than 5 years. .
